The CFW Workday with Laura McKenna
Laura McKenna grew up in Ohio and got her first job in radio in La Crosse in 2005. She packed up her stuff, made the move, and has been in Wisconsin ever since! Her favorite season is winter but she loves to spend all summer in her vegetable garden. When she isn't in her pink kitchen cooking up vegetarian recipes, more than likely she's taking bubble baths, reading mystery novels (sometimes while in a bubble bath), cheering for THEE Ohio State Buckeyes, or officiating weddings! She married her best friend from college last year but they still don't live in the same house yet. Laura's favorite way to spend a Friday night is watching Dateline with her cat (Phil Dawson) on her lap. She's thrilled to be back keeping you company during the workday on 105-7 CFW!

Earth Day Tips & Tricks to save Mother Nature and save you money!
Bring Your Own MugI keep a bagful of clean, reusable tumbler mugs in my car so they’re at the ready when I’m out and about. Many convenience stores and businesses will offer a discount if you use your own clean cup and price it as a “refill”. You save a disposable cup from being tossed […]

Movie Monday: If you want a really good thriller, add this movie to your watch list…
Today happens to be actor James McAvoy‘s 46th birthday and I just so happened to watch a movie over the weekend that the birthday boy starred in. But to say he starred in this movie doesn’t even seem good enough. He was great. In fact, every movie I’ve ever seen with him in it is […]

In The Kitchen with Laura McKenna: Banana Crunch Muffin Recipe
Forget the banana bread on this National Banana Day. You MUST, MUST, must instead make these Banana Crunch Muffins. They are THE BEST!! I make them all the time and highly recommend this recipe (and this is coming from a gal that doesn’t love bananas because I find them too mushy). The recipe is easy […]

Movie Monday: The Breakfast Club reunion we didn’t even know we needed
One of my favorite movies from the ’80s: The Breakfast Club They just don’t make movies like that anymore….literally. According to the cast, they probably won’t make them like that anymore either. Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall sat down together for the first time in 40 years at the […]

Recall Alert: Johnsonville Cheddar Bratwurst
As soon as baseball season begins, it’s time to fire up the grill. But before you place a bratwurst on there, make sure it’s not one of the packages involved in the bratwurst recall. I know I don’t have any of these at home (being a vegetarian and all) but the makers of Johnsonville brats […]

In The Kitchen with Laura McKenna: Bread Making Tips
FUN FACT (that I don’t find very fun at all): Don’t slice bread while it’s still warm, fresh out of the oven! Honestly, this goes against everything I live for because bread hot out of the oven tastes THE BEST! But cutting off the first slice right away might make the rest of the loaf […]

Double Sunrise Happens Tomorrow Morning
The next big sky moment in 2025 happens tomorrow! Tell your friends on the northeast coast to watch for it! The partial solar eclipse happens tomorrow at sunrise. They call it a “double sunrise” because you see two separate “horns” of the sun rising up. However, it won’t be all that visible in most of the […]

Movie Monday: Misquoted Movie Lines
If you’re like me, I sometimes just make up my own words to a song. Not that I do it on purpose or anything. I genuinely think I’m correctly singing along but what I hear sometimes (ok, most of the time) ends up being something completely different than what I see when I look at […]

A lot of people say: “Who cares about the Oscars.” I can’t blame them. If I remember to tune to into The Academy Awards broadcast, I do. If I don’t, I don’t lose any sleep. Also, I’ve been really disappointed in some Oscar winning movies over the years. I’ve hated them. Yet these movies win […]

Joker: Folie à Deux, (the sequel to 2019’s Joker which earned Joaquin Phoenix the Best Actor Oscar), won 2 Razzies over the weekend. Those included Razzies for Worst Screen Combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and also Worst Sequel. That’s actually letting the movie off the hook a bit considering the audience reaction. It seems […]
