The CFW Workday with Laura McKenna
Laura McKenna grew up in Ohio and got her first job in radio in La Crosse in 2005. She packed up her stuff, made the move, and has been in Wisconsin ever since! Her favorite season is winter but she loves to spend all summer in her vegetable garden. When she isn't in her pink kitchen cooking up vegetarian recipes, more than likely she's taking bubble baths, reading mystery novels (sometimes while in a bubble bath), cheering for THEE Ohio State Buckeyes, or officiating weddings! She married her best friend from college last year but they still don't live in the same house yet. Laura's favorite way to spend a Friday night is watching Dateline with her cat (Phil Dawson) on her lap. She's thrilled to be back keeping you company during the workday on 105-7 CFW!

Movie Monday: Love Actually
One of my favorite movies dates back to 2003. The romantic Christmas movie “Love Actually” was released and used the now popular (but at the time quite novel) interwoven storyline plot of eight couples dealing with their love lives in London at Christmastime. It’s a great movie (and I’m not usually one to like sappy Christmas movies) […]

Christmas is one of the most delicious times of the year. But if you baked too early and didn’t freeze your cookies, it can also be one of the most disappointing times of the year. Movie Monday: “Moana 2” Rides A Huge Wave Into Theaters
Moana 2 had the biggest five-day opening of all time, with $221 million. Earnings were tallied from movie goers from Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday) showings through Sunday. What’s interesting is that the first Moana did well but didn’t seem to perform as great as some other animated movies did when originally released. In fact, it wasn’t even […]

Movie Monday: Before there was Wicked, there was The Wizard in Wisconsin
Wicked blasted into theaters over the weekend and brought in $114 million (domestically) and another global haul of $164.2 million. However, long before Wicked, there was The Wizard of Oz. Chronologically, by release date, I mean. Since Wicked – technically – is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz (if we’re speaking purely on plot). […]

Movie Monday: 2 Thrillers that Laura McKenna says are worth a watch
If you are fan of thrillers, I watched two good movies back-to-back on Saturday night. STRAW DOGSI started with the James Marsden and Kate Bosworth version of Straw Dogs from 2011. I honestly didn’t even know there was an original Straw Dogs with Dustin Hoffman from 1971 until I did some digging. This one has […]

I watched a really great slow-burn suspenseful movie on Saturday night but I have the darndest time remembering what movie I watched because there are so many that have basically the same title (released around the same time). The Watchers is a movie that stars Dakota Fanning and was released in 2024. I’m intrigued but […]
