The CFW Workday with Laura McKenna

Laura McKenna grew up in Ohio and got her first job in radio in La Crosse in 2005. She packed up her stuff, made the move, and has been in Wisconsin ever since! Her favorite season is winter but she loves to spend all summer in her vegetable garden. When she isn't in her pink kitchen cooking up vegetarian recipes, more than likely she's taking bubble baths, reading mystery novels (sometimes while in a bubble bath), cheering for THEE Ohio State Buckeyes, or officiating weddings! She married her best friend from college last year but they still don't live in the same house yet. Laura's favorite way to spend a Friday night is watching Dateline with her cat (Phil Dawson) on her lap. She's thrilled to be back keeping you company during the workday on 105-7 CFW!

Movie Monday: Misquoted Movie Lines

If you’re like me, I sometimes just make up my own words to a song. Not that I do it on purpose or anything. I genuinely think I’m correctly singing along but what I hear sometimes (ok, most of the time) ends up being something completely different than what I see when I look at […]

Movie Monday: The X’s & O’s of “The Oscar Effect”- it’s alive and working

A lot of people say: “Who cares about the Oscars.” I can’t blame them. If I remember to tune to into The Academy Awards broadcast, I do. If I don’t, I don’t lose any sleep. Also, I’ve been really disappointed in some Oscar winning movies over the years. I’ve hated them. Yet these movies win […]

Movie Monday: The Best, The Worst, The Redeemers, The Maybe-Not-So-Oscar-Worthy

Joker: Folie à Deux, (the sequel to 2019’s Joker which earned Joaquin Phoenix the Best Actor Oscar), won 2 Razzies over the weekend. Those included Razzies for Worst Screen Combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and also Worst Sequel. That’s actually letting the movie off the hook a bit considering the audience reaction. It seems […]

Ever spilled red wine on a brand new shirt? Well, my husband has. He actually manages to spill something on himself pretty much every time he sits down to eat. This time, however, with the wine- it was not his fault. Picture it: We’re seated at a really nice restaurant for his 40th birthday. His […]
