WCFW first signed on the air in 1968, making it a heritage radio station with over 50 years of service to the Chippewa Valley community.
4. Who owns WCFW?
WCFW is currently owned by Civic Media, Inc., which acquired the station in June 2023. Civic Media operates 32 radio stations across Wisconsin , Michigan and Minnesota.
5. What happened to the previous owners?
The station was owned by Roland and Pat Bushland for 54 years, from 1968 until 2022. The Bushlands sold the station to Magnum Media in October 2022, which then sold it to Civic Media in June 2023.

Yes, we broadcast “Throwback Nation Radio” with Wisconsin native Tony Lorino in the evening hours. This is a nationally syndicated show. It also features the nationally syndicated show “Throwback 2K” airing Sunday afternoons from 2p-7p
10. Does WCFW still play polka music?
While WCFW was historically known for playing polka music (which local farmers claimed helped relax milking cows), the current format focuses on adult hits from the 80s, 90s, and today. Polka programming was part of the station’s earlier era.
