Well, hopefully by now you have taken your turkey out of the freezer and started thawing it. If not, hurry up! Here are a few tips that will ensure your turkey is perfect on Thanksgiving. Unless you burn it, but that’s on you. 😂
Refrigerator (This is the most recommended method)
- Keep turkey in its packaging.
- Place on a tray to catch drips.
- Allow ~24 hours per 4–5 lbs.
Cold Water (Don’t forget to thoroughly clean your sink first if you’re using the sink!)
- Submerge turkey in cold water, sealed in leak-proof packaging.
- Change water every 30 minutes.
- Thaw ~30 minutes per pound.
Microwave (Only if your turkey is very small!)
- Follow your microwave’s instructions.
- Cook immediately after thawing.
