June Dairy Month is here, with dairy-themed events all month long in Wisconsin
WISCONSIN (Civic Media) – June is officially recognized as Dairy Month in Wisconsin.
A number of events, backed by Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, are being held across the state this month to celebrate it.
For most places, the celebration comes in the form of a June Dairy Breakfast. Several counties rotate the event to different dairy farms in their area, while others hold theirs in fairgrounds or open event spaces.

This weekend, June 7 and 8, a number of events kickoff the month of June, including several June Dairy Breakfasts.
Events this weekend are in Ashland, Eastman (Crawford County), Madison (Cows on the Concourse), Barneveld (Iowa County), Rock Springs (Sauk County), Wisconsin Dells, Evansville (Rock County), Barron, Fall Creek (Eau Claire County), Menomonie, Tomah (Monroe County), and Manitowoc on Saturday. On Sunday, there are events in Fennimore (Grant/Iowa counties), Neillsville, a second event in Manitowoc, Lone Rock (Richland County), Freedom (Outagamie County), Lena (Oconto County), Edgar, and Merrill (Lincoln County).

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers highlighted the impact of dairy-based industry in Wisconsin and proposed a $1.5 million grant in the state budget to support on-farm projects in dairy agriculture. According to state officials, the dairy industry contributes over $50 billion to the state’s economy and provides over 120,000 jobs.
