Crash leads to arrest in Muscoda
MUSCODA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – A two vehicle crash in Muscoda resulted in an arrest.
Saturday morning (June 21) around 8:30, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a crash at the intersection of West Front Street and South Iowa Street. It was reported that two individuals were injured in the crash.
While emergency crews were responding, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that one of the driver’s involved fled the scene and was running on foot. When Deputies arrived and began investigating, it was determined that Desiree Bird, 38 of Milwaukee, was travelling west on West Front Street, when Mollie Lund, 29 of Muscoda, failed to stop at the posted stop sign onSouth Iowa Street and West Front Street. Lund’s vehicle collided with Bird’s vehicle.
Mollie Lund had a brief conversation with Desiree Bird and Lund then ran from the scene. Muscoda Fire and EMS responded, along with deputies from the Richland and Grant County Sheriff’s Offices. Bird and her passenger, Rhoda Nance, 62 of Milwaukee, were both transported to Gundersen Boscobel Area Health Care by Muscoda EMS with minor injuries.
Lund was located and arrested for two counts of Hit and Run causing injury, and she wasalso cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. Bird was cited for not having vehicle insurance.
