Thursday, July 3

Vernon County Human Services Department will assist individuals with Power of Attorney for Healthcare documents the first Thursday of each month from 9:00a to Noon at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Vernon County. To make an appointment call 608-637-5201 or 1-888-637-1323.

The Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board is sponsoring a series of canoe outings on the Wisconsin River through July. The large voyageur replica canoes commissioned by the State of Wisconsin in conjunction with the sesquicentennial in 1998 are used for the trips that explore different segments of the river. A trip is scheduled for Thursday, July 3, from 9:00a to 2:00p from Lone Rock to Gotham. To make a reservation or to ask questions about the canoe trips, contact the Riverway Board office Monday through Friday from 8:00a to 4:00p at 608-739-3188 or by emailing [email protected]. Additional information may be found on the Riverway Board website or Facebook page. Seating is limited to 14 people for each excursion and reservations are required.

The Lone Rock Farmers Market is held each Thursday until October from 3:30p to 6:30p at Center Park on Highway 130. Follow the Lone Rock Farmers Market Facebook page for updates on what’s happening at the market.

The Boscobel Fireman’s 2025 July 4th Celebration will be held Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4, at Kronsage Park in Boscobel. This year’s theme is “Proud To Be An American.” The event kicks-off Thursday with Greg Webster, Chellanie & Joe performing from 5:00p until 8:00p and The Cory Farley Band will be on stage from 8:30a until 11:00a. On Friday morning the Firecracker Run starts at 8:00a, with registration starting at 7:30a. More info about the run can be found at boscobelfirecrackerrun.com. The Giant Street Parade steps-off on Wisconsin Avenue at 1:00p. Registration for the parade will be held at the Fire Station from 10:00a until Noon. There will be Thunder Showers Bounce Houses from 1:30p until 7:00p, the band Countryfied will play from 3:00p until 7:00p and Willy & Hank Kids Fire Training will be at the Tennis Courts from 7:00p until 9:00p. The evening will culminate with fireworks at dusk. Burgers, brats, hot dogs, pulled pork and beverages will be sold both days. Absolutely no carry-ins or fireworks are allowed.

Celebrate Recovery -RC meets every Thursday night from 6:00p to 8:00p at the Nazarene Outreach Center in Richland Center. Food is available starting at 5:30p. Celebrate Recovery – Richland Center is sponsored by Grace Community Church.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offers a free course to anyone who wants to learn English. The class runs from 7:00pm to 8:00 PM every Thursday and from 11:00 until Noon every Saturday at the Church located on Executive Lane in Richland Center. For more information, call (262) 893-3763. The Lone Rock 4th of July Celebration will be Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th at Fireman’s Park in Lone Rock. Thursday evening the “Old Timers” Baseball Game will be at 8:00. Friday morning the Marketplace will open at 7:00. There will be a 5K Water Walk-Run at 8:00 and the Parade will step-off at 11:00. After the parade bbq chicken will be sold at the EMS Chicken BBQ at the Fire Department and the First Lutheran Church Chicken BBQ at Fireman’s Park. There will also be a Sand Wrestling Tournament, Tun’ingo, a raffle drawing a petting zoo and Fireworks at dusk. There will be concessions and music both days. Friday, July 4

Enjoy an old fashion Fourth of July. The Blackhawk Bethlehem Church & Denzer United Methodist Church will host a celebration Friday, July 4. A parade will be held at 10:30a with a chicken barbecue dinner and slices of pie available for purchase from 11:30a to 2:00p. Games such as a three legged race, water balloon toss, sack races and others will begin at 1:00. There will also be food stand novelties and beverages available for purchase. The event will be held at S10174 County Road C in Sauk City.

Enjoy 4th of July fireworks at various locations at dusk: Boscobel, Gays Mills, La Farge, Lone Rock, Mazomanie,
Mineral Point, Platteville, and Viroqua.

Saturday, July 5

The Highland Historical Society will be holding a Farmer’s Market Saturday’s, through October, from 8:00a until 11:00 at the Old High School building in Highland. Produce, and various other items, will be available for purchase.

Caz, Cars and Coffee is held the first Saturday of each month from 8:00a until 11:00a on East Main Street in Downtown Cazenovia. Casual meet inviting vehicles of all types and condition. Free coffee provided with a small farmer’s market running as well. Food truck will be on site for June’s event.

The Viroqua Farmers Market will be held each Saturday through October from 8:00a to12:30p.

Car-B-Que in the Park will be held Saturday, July 5, at Kaul Park. Classic cars and trucks will arrive at 11:00a. There is no entry fee or judging. The chicken barbecue will begin at Noon. The half chicken meal is priced at $14. For more information about the car show call Craig at 608-574-9705.

Sunday, July 6

The Boaz Lions Club invites you to tour the Mastedon Building the first Sunday of each month now through September. The building will be open Sunday afternoons from 1:00p to 3:00p.

“Cowboy Church” with Monty Berger, of the Country Gold Band, will be held Sunday, July 6, at 2:00p, at The Little Brown Church of Bear Valley. Enjoy a musical afternoon of gospel and patriotic music. Light refreshments will be provided.

Kickapoo Cowboy Church is held at 6:00p on the first Sunday of the month, April through December, at the Old Oak Inn in Soldiers Grove.
