
Spring Commencement at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College to be held May 16
The Spring 2026 Commencement at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College will be held Saturday, May 16, with four ceremonies throughout the day, honoring graduates from all college programs. This spring, 407 students are eligible to graduate, with 328 indicating they will be participating in their specific ceremony.
Each ceremony will include an emcee, student speaker and alumni speaker.
They include:
At 8:00, Heidi Bauer of Arena, receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing will Emcee with Student Speaker, Shayla Jaynes of Exton, Pennsylvania, from the Direct Entry Midwife Program.
The 10:00 ceremony will be Emceed by Anna Bonilla of Fennimore, who will receive her degree in Early Childhood Education. The ceremony will also feature Alumni Speaker Carrie Sutter of Cassville who received her degree in accounting in 1999 and works as a Correctional Management Services Director for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
Student Speakers at the 10:00 ceremony will include Lissette Alvarado of Richland Center from the Graphic and Web Design Program; and Kat from the Business Management Program.
The Noon ceremony will be Emceed by Ryan Kueter of Platteville, from the Criminal. The Alumni Speaker will be Justin McLimans of Fennimore, a graduate of theCriminal Justice – Law Enforcement Program in 2006. The Student Speaker will be Marissa Needham of Plain from the Electrical Power Distribution Program.
The 2:00 ceremony will feature Alumni Speaker, Laura Maier of Stitzer. Maier graduated from the Dairy Herd Management Program in 2003, Agri-Business/Science Technology Program in 2005, and the Accounting Program in 2020. She currently works as a Feed Accountant at Premier Cooperative in Mt. Horeb. The Student Speaker will be Neil Venheuizen of Waupun from the Animal Science Program.
