Summer….

Every year, we say the same thing: “I can’t believe summer’s already over!” “It goes by too fast!” My personal favorite, “I’m moving somewhere where it’s always summer!” The last one is my line, I say it every single year without fail. But 47 years into my life, and I still live up here. I figure there must be something keeping me here. Well, there is. For one, it’s family. I was born and raised just across the border in MN. A nice quick jaunt down the highway and I’m near my family, where the last two generations of my family have called home. My daughter has her friends here, and we’re not about to uproot her from them. Also, as much as I say I love summer…..what I really love is what summer represents. Freedom, sunshine, wearing shorts and sandals, boating, cruising with the top down on the car, and just the overall feeling of happiness. When it’s hot and humid outside, I don’t complain anymore, but for the most part I stay inside where it’s comfy and cozy. So, considering that, maybe I’m more of a late spring or early fall type of guy. When outside temps are 70 and humidity is low. Ok, so other than California, where is the weather like that all year? Maybe we’ll be moving there in 4 years when my daughter graduates. I’ll have to convince the entire family to move with us!

Napster!?
Napster. Just the thought of that word brings back memories of 1999. Illegal music downloads. It was the KING of illegal downloads back in the day. After being shutdown, it spawned an entire army of wannabe “programs” (apps only existed as the snack you ate, before you actually ate) that mimicked its style and functionality. […]

Memories, thanks to Google Maps?
This morning I had a little extra time on my hands (which doesn’t happen very often) and I decided to look on Google Maps, at some street views of my old neighborhood in Minnesota. I remember when Street View first became a thing, people got nervous because they thought it would be an invasion of […]
