It’s Thanksgiving! Time to see how much we can eat, how much we can drink, how much family dynamics we can handle, how much football we can watch, and do all of it without falling asleep on the couch. I urge everyone to indulge in what makes you feel good. Whether it’s an extra serving of dessert, laughter with loved ones, or even that afternoon nap on the sofa.
This year is a special one, as it’s the first time in probably a decade that my family is getting together for Thanksgiving. Both of my parents and their significant others, my brother and his family, and my in-laws. I have a good feeling that this is going to be a great gathering. As long as nobody talks politics, and the turkey is fully thawed (and doesn’t get overcooked) everything will be perfect.
I’m thankful for a lot of things, including all of you. Thank you for allowing me (and all of us at the station) into your lives every day. We know you have a choice, and the fact that you choose us isn’t something we take lightly. Together, we are the spirit of this community. We couldn’t possibly do this without you. Also, to the great local advertisers who help us pay the bills and keep this valuable local community resource on the air, we are thankful for you as well. On behalf of all of us, Happy Thanksgiving!

Napster!?
Napster. Just the thought of that word brings back memories of 1999. Illegal music downloads. It was the KING of illegal downloads back in the day. After being shutdown, it spawned an entire army of wannabe “programs” (apps only existed as the snack you ate, before you actually ate) that mimicked its style and functionality. […]

Memories, thanks to Google Maps?
This morning I had a little extra time on my hands (which doesn’t happen very often) and I decided to look on Google Maps, at some street views of my old neighborhood in Minnesota. I remember when Street View first became a thing, people got nervous because they thought it would be an invasion of […]

Oscars
The 97th Academy Awards were held in Hollywood last night. The glitz, the glamour, the blahhhhhh… I’ve long adored Hollywood. At one time, I even imagined myself being an actor. They say you’ll never truly realize your dreams unless you attempt to make them come true. Then I realized my radio-friendly face wouldn’t jive with […]
