Happy Friday (the 13th)! Here’s a bit of what we did this week on the show.
- Music! Lot’s of great music!
- Scientists in Mexico are concerned a natural disaster could be coming our way, after a pair of 40-foot-long Oarfish washed up on shore. Oarfish, nicknamed the “doomsday fish” usually live 3-thousand feet under water, and seeing one is a sign of an impending disaster, like an earthquake or tsunami. (I’m not sure about a disaster coming but bad news for the fish they were featured on the Friday night fish fry!)
- Some grocery stores in California are now “suggesting” you leave a tip when you purchase your groceries. (I’ll be doing the same on our website, so you can leave a tip after you hear an “amazing” show. I’m sure that won’t happen very often)
- One out of three adults say they’re influenced by horoscopes, and base a lot of their life choices on them including financial decisions. (I don’t believe in horoscopes. Now, the ‘fortunes’ in fortune cookies, those are real!)
- A snow storm is on the way for this weekend, but Spring officially starts on March 20th! (I’m ready! I’m already wearing shorts when I golf…on my Playstation)
- The average American family washes 8 to 10 loads of laundry a week. (and if you have kids, 2 to 3 of those loads are probably found under their beds!)
Thanks for listening, have a great weekend and we’ll meet on the radio next week!

But, what is Cinco de Mayo about?
Most of us love to “celebrate” Cinco de Mayo, but what is Cinco de Mayo really about? A lot of people think it’s Mexico’s independence day, but that is actually in September, September 16th to be exact. Cinco de Mayo honors, May 5, 1862, when a smaller, poorly equipped Mexican militia led by General Ignacio […]
