The ballpark comes to the studio! It’s one of the tell tale signs of summer here in Wisconsin Rapids, Rafters baseball. Recently Assistant General Manager of your Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Jake Adams sat down on the pine with James for a new episode of The Rapids Report.
Some Updates
After catching up some the boys discussed the cool new way you can interact with Rosco by texting with him! You can win things and keep up to date on rain outs or other cool news.
Part of the Family
We then got into the importance and impact of host families. These local individuals open up their homes to the wonderful athletes and create a bond that only baseball can bring. The way these families not only provide shelter but fellowship and care. I have talked with many host families over the years and each one has special memories of their time with these players. They follow their journeys and almost always stay in touch to this day. Being a host family is also a great benefit for those who love to take in Rafter games! Each member of the immediate family will receive free full season bleacher tickets. They will also receive a merchandise discount at the Rafthouse! A free pass allowing entrance into all Northwoods League Ballparks so they can follow the team on the road! How cool is that!! And the family is invited to special host family events throughout the season including the awesome Ho-Chunk Nekoosa Rat Trap Deck Party! There will be a link at the end of this article so you can learn more about being a part of the team and being our next host family!
There’s Room for More
Jake and I also talked about the many positions available with the Rafters this Summer. Along with the great opportunity they give to locals to sing our National Anthem! Learn more at their website or meet us at the ballpark!

And remember if you can’t make it to the park, every hit, every pitch, every win of Rafters baseball will be on 97.5 FM/1320 AM WFHR all Summer long!
