UW-Whitewater wins NCAA Division 3 baseball championship

The Warhawks have now won 3 national titles.

Eastlake, OHIO (WAUK) – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has won the 2025 NCAA Division 3 baseball championship.

It’s the third title all-time for the Warhawks and their first since 2014.

Coach John Vodenlich said he was proud of the team’s effort and thanked supporters during the post-game press conference.

“I’m happy for the University, for anyone who has ever donned a Warhawk uniform, but most of all, I’m really excited for these young men,” Vodenlich said.

UWW defeated Messiah 21-5 to wrap up a best-of-three series for the championship. In five games during the College World Series finals, the Warhawks gave up 19 runs – fewer than the 21 that UWW scored in the clinching game alone.

Whitewater finishes the season 49-6. The six losses all happened against members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, including twice to UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville and once to UW-Stout and UW-La Crosse.

UWW also won the national title in 2002.
