Memories, thanks to Google Maps?

This morning I had a little extra time on my hands (which doesn’t happen very often) and I decided to look on Google Maps, at some street views of my old neighborhood in Minnesota. I remember when Street View first became a thing, people got nervous because they thought it would be an invasion of privacy. In reality, it’s one of the coolest things ever! Basically, it’s the same as driving by in your car, except for you don’t have to travel to get there. And it allows us to look back on images from the past to see how a particular neighborhood has changed. I started looking at our old neighborhood, then decided to look a couple of towns over where my dad used to own his business. I started thinking of all of the people I knew there, and how most of them are no longer with us. It was a fun trip down memory lane. But I have to be honest, it made me quite sad! So many highly influential people in my life are no longer walking this earth, sometimes it almost seems surreal.
I guess that is part of getting older. I think that I can consider myself lucky to say that I have the opportunity to get older, not everyone has that opportunity in their life.
(Remember “Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy” on SNL?
This is my version. Deep Thoughts with Jay Roberts. 🤪)

Flying Cars Coming Soon?
You may recall back in 2023, it made news that a company was working on a flying car and had received FAA approval for testing. To me, it seemed like anything else…just a dream, but likely nothing we would ever see in our lifetime. Fast-forward two years, and we are now (potentially) on the brink […]
