I Knew The Day Would Come

Parenting has always been a stressful endeavor. There’s no handbook that outlines everything you’ll experience as a parent, so you just do your best. I’ve always known that the day would come when my 15 year old daughter starts “talking” to a boy. Last night was it. My wife and I walked into her bedroom to say goodnight. She was video chatting with someone. Not unusual, considering she spends most of her time video chatting with her friends when they aren’t together. But this time, it was different. It was a boy. He had big muscles and looked like a football player. The kind of boy I would personally pick for her! Maybe because I was like that in high school, too. Anyway, we didn’t get officially introduced, but he seemed ok.
I’m going to take baby steps with this situation. My daughter is very cute (just like her mom!) and I am very protective of her. Any boy that is “talking” with her must treat her like a princess. She won’t stand for anything less. Stay tuned…..
