I always joke that I have 100 jobs (and I might be slightly exaggerating…it’s more like 98 or 99). In addition to being on the radio, I also officiate weddings.
Over the weekend, I heard quite possibly THE BEST wedding toast in my entire life (and I’ve heard a lot of them). Logan, the Best Man, said he saw different variations of the Wood Ships Poem online leading up to the wedding but adapted it to fit the day.
Logan started his speech talking about meeting his best friend (the groom) when they were 4 years old at a campground and being fast friends all way up to present day. They went to school together and Logan said he was so happy that Scott was able to marry Dayna. He ended his heartfelt Best Man Speech by asking everyone to raise their glasses in a toast to the newlyweds and said this:
“Some ships are wood ships and those ships may sink. But the Best Ships are Friend Ships and to those ship, we drink!”
Aww!! There was not a dry eye in the building.
Congrats to Dayna & Scott! And may all of you reading this have friendships like Scott and Logan (because they really are the best ships)!

What’s interesting is that the first Moana did well but didn’t seem to perform as great as some other animated movies did when originally released. In fact, it wasn’t even […]

Movie Monday: Before there was Wicked, there was The Wizard in Wisconsin
Wicked blasted into theaters over the weekend and brought in $114 million (domestically) and another global haul of $164.2 million. However, long before Wicked, there was The Wizard of Oz. Chronologically, by release date, I mean. Since Wicked – technically – is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz (if we’re speaking purely on plot). […]

Movie Monday: 2 Thrillers that Laura McKenna says are worth a watch
If you are fan of thrillers, I watched two good movies back-to-back on Saturday night. STRAW DOGSI started with the James Marsden and Kate Bosworth version of Straw Dogs from 2011. I honestly didn’t even know there was an original Straw Dogs with Dustin Hoffman from 1971 until I did some digging. This one has […]
