Adorable. Pamela Anderson and Kiernan Shipka are adorable. That’s it. That’s all you need to know.
Ok, but I do have more on this Movie Monday…
I have not seen The Last Showgirl yet but early reviews were expecting Pamela Anderson to receive an Oscar Nom for her role as Shelly (a seasoned showgirl dealing with her show abruptly closing after a 30-year run). The nominations just came out and she didn’t get one. After reading Pamela Anderson’s memoir last year, “Love Pamela”, I just want all good things to come her way. I really like her a lot.
Maybe it’s because we’re kindred spirits- both Cancer water signs in the zodiac. Maybe it’s because she just seems like a sweetie. Maybe it’s because she also doesn’t eat meat so we’d be easy lunch buddies. Either way, I think we’d be friends.
So maybe it’s just me, but this is one of the realest Hollywood interviews I’ve seen in a long time. Two friends, just sitting and chatting like normal friends do. Except these friends are in the limelight a lot more than normal friends are. So how cute is it that when asked, “What’s the best gift you’ve ever received…”, one of them answers: a handwritten note from my son. Adorable.
Adorable!!

At the end, they’re asked some Rapid Fire Q & A Questions and I thought it would be fun for all of us to play along. So here’s my quick answers and I would love to see yours, too! Email [email protected]
Rapid Fire Questions
1. LAST GREAT BOOK I READ: Timbaland’s memoir “The Emperor of Sound”
2. LAST TV THAT I BINGE WATCHED: Monsters: The Lyle & Erik Menendez Story
3. MORNING PERSON OR NIGHT OWL: Night Owl… totally a night owl (despite being on so many morning shows over the course of my radio career)
4. GO-TO COFFEE ORDER: Oatmilk Caramel Latte (bonus if they have butterscotch instead)
5. BEST GIFT YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED: Hot Pink Kitchen Aid Mixer from my Granny
6. LAST CONCERT YOU ATTENDED: Blackhawk
And to wrap up this Movie Monday, here’s a movie recommendation for you fellow scary movie lovers starring Kiernan Shipka that you may not know about. The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015) is one that slipped by me when it was new but I watched it just recently and it was pretty darned good. Kiernan also played a small role in the Longlegs (2024) and while I liked that movie, my mom and husband thought it was dumb. Well… that’s why there are more than one movie on the library shelves. Or on your streaming service of choice, but the library movies are free!
Until next week…

Laura McKenna Book Club: The Power Couple
I picked this book off the shelf without knowing anything about it- I just literally judged a book by its cover. I thought this one looked interesting and with only a few chapters left, the cover did not lead me astray. I can’t put it down. If you’re looking for a good thriller with some […]

Movie Monday: Oscar winning actress teams up with James Patterson for a new legal thriller novel
I love a good book. Even better when a great book gets turned into a really good movie. It doesn’t always happen. Usually the book is always so much better than the movie but I can think of a few that really did it well: Water For Elephants. Gone Girl. The Shawshank Redemption. The Green […]
