Tons of sequel news to chat about today! Let’s start with my favorite: The Legally Blonde prequel.
Legally Blonde prequel “Elle”
This won’t be making the big screen but the new Amazon series will feature our everyone’s favorite blonde, Elle Woods, before Harvard Law School and even before she became a Delta Nu at the fictional California University Los Angeles (CULA) in the original movie.
FUN FACT: Amanda Brown published Legally Blonde in 2001, basing it upon her real life experiences as a blonde attending Stanford Law School, while being obsessed with fashion and beauty, reading Elle magazine, and frequently clashing with the personalities of her peers.
Reese Witherspoon (the original Elle Woods from the Legally Blonde movies) will be an executive producer on the new Amazon series and helped conduct the search for the new, younger version of herself. I thought immediately- “Hire your daughter, Reese!” They could be twins!
However, we have our first look at the high school version of Elle Woods. It’s not her dauther but I will have to say, Lexi Minetree fits the stilettos!
She’ll make a perfect Elle Woods for the new series and we’ll see her journey through high school- exploring the formative experiences that mold her into the iconic, confident character we met in the original Legally Blonde film from 2001.

Next up:
The Goonies
There has been so much back and forth, will there/won’t there… that I almost hate to say it again. But….
It appears this time, The Goonies sequel is happening. This comes almost 40 years after the original hit theaters. Steven Spielberg will produce and Chris Columbus (the original writer of the first film) will executive produce. No director is attached to the sequel yet but we’ll let you know when they are put into place. No release date yet, either. Obviously.
Last but not least:
The Accountant 2
Here’s a look at the new trailer. The sequel to the 2016 original will once again star Ben Affleck and hits theaters April 25th. I liked the first one so I hope this sequel is just as good.

Movie Review: Crime 101
If you’re looking for a great heist movie, I think you’ll love Crime 101! The performances by Halle Berry, Chris Hemsworth, and Mark Ruffalo were fantastic. And if you watched The Banshees of Inisherin (2022), Barry Keoghan plays a totally different character in Crime 101 (2026). And he’s really, really good, too! In fact, when […]
