Blood Moon Eclipse

Ready for the next big spectacle in the sky?

A total lunar eclipse is going to be visible early Friday morning on March 14, 2025. Experts say the full moon- known this time as the Blood Moon– will make the moon appear red during a total lunar eclipse that’s going to peak at 1:55 a.m. central time Friday morning.

The entire eclipse will actually start late tonight (Thursday March 13th) and lasting roughly six hours. It will be visible from the Earth’s western hemisphere, with prime sky viewing conditions across North and South America. So if things are clear in your neck of the woods, you should be able to see it in all its glory.

With other sky events, sometimes you need special equipment. This time you shouldn’t as long as light pollution and weather conditions cooperate. But if you have binoculars, it’ll heighten the viewing.
