Wicked fans, don’t put your pink and green too far back into the closet because you might need it again.
I’ve heard there is a new prequel book in the works from the author who penned the “Wicked Years” series. And you know Hollywood- if there is money to be made, they’re going to keep churning out movies.
Author Gregory Maguire is coming out with the new book titled, “Galinda: A Charmed Childhood.” (That extra “A” exists in her name because the story will take place before she shortened it.)
HarperCollins is describing the book as a journey through the good witch’s youth where she will be both pampered and ignored.
And while I have yet to see any of the Wicked movies (why rush into things!?), I did hear of another prequel that does have a green light (no pun intended, Wicked fans).
If you watched the movie Weapons (2025) and wondered what the story behind Aunt Gladys happened to be- you might be in luck!
Weapons grossed $264 million worldwide so why not give it a sequel? I just watched it over the weekend (again, why rush into things seeing as it came out in theaters in August and it’s now wintertime). I can’t understand how some people didn’t like it. I thought it was great.
You know my scary movie criteria:
Does it have a plot? YES.
Is it believable? YES.
Does it have an ending? YES.
I loved it even more when during the kitchen scene, I realized that Aunt Gladys happened to be Uncle Buck‘s girlfriend, Chanice Kobolowski, back in the day. Talk about a range of characters for Amy Madigan.
So how about a Weapons 2? Yeah, sign me up!

Movie Monday: My most anticipated movie of the year
I cannot wait for this. You know that when I’m at home, I have Court TV on my television non-stop (except for the occasional break for Friday Night Dateline and football), so I watched both of Karen Read’s trials. There were two in total, counting the retrial which just wrapped up this summer. Currently there […]

Movie Monday: This one’s for the football fans!
I love a good sports movie- especially those that are based on real people and real teams. Even though we’ll have to wait until Thanksgiving 2026 to see the new John Madden movie starring Nicolas Cage, I think it’ll be worth the wait! The new movie will be based on the NFL coach’s life and career. […]
