Big news for big fans of the original Murder, She Wrote TV show that ran for 12 seasons starting in 1984- you’re getting a movie reboot! The iconic crime writer and amateur sleuth, Jessica Fletcher, was originally played by Angela Lansbury in the long running series. Now, Jamie Lee Curtis will play the role in the upcoming movie set for release December 22, 2027.
While the plot and details are being kept under wraps, I can bet on one thing- Jamie Lee Curtis will not disappoint.
Have you seen her in the new Amazon Prime show based on Patricia Cornwell’s Dr. Kay Scarpetta book series? Nicole Kidman plays the lead character (Kay) but Jamie Lee Curtis steals the show as Kay’s sister, Dorothy. I mean, STEALS it.
Don’t get me wrong, you know I’m a big fan of Nicole, too. Their chemistry (or rather sibling rivalry) onscreen may be my favorite onscreen duo that I’ve seen in a long time. But it’s Jamie Lee Curtis in Scarpetta that makes the series so good. When she’s not on screen, I’m always hoping that she bursts on in…. in all her brash fabulousness. And I do mean, bursts- in dialogue, in wardrobe, in everything. She’s fantastic.
So as far as how she will do in the upcoming Murder, She Wrote movie? I don’t think she’s capable of being anything less than outstanding. Trust me- start binging Scarpetta right now. You can thank me later.

Movie Review: Roofman
I’m going to start out by saying that I love Channing Tatum, so I’m completely biased. COMPLETELY. That being said, aside from my admiration, he is a really good actor. And don’t scoff at that…. he is! He has range. He can ham it up in slapstick comedy movies like 21 Jump Street (2012), dance […]
